Welcome to the 2017 Denfeld Nation Automation bios!
This is the place where you can learn all about team members and what they participate on in the team.
David A: As a freshman, David got into Robotics through Matt J (Mini-Matt), who suggested to David that he should stop by the Robotics room sometime. Since then, he’s been dedicated to the team as a whole. He participates as the Marketing lead and is on the CAD subteam. He’s unsure about his future on the team, willing to ‘go with the flow’ as many say.
Dylan A: Like many others, Dylan (more commonly known as Diddo) joined the team thanks to friends and encouragement, more specifically Matt K. He’s currently on Media team and is the Rules captain.
Rachael B: Rachael has been interested in Robotics for quite a while, and finally her friend Matt Johnston brought her to a 4009 meeting to join the team. Rachael is currently learning and interested in CAD and Solidworks.
Adriana B: Adriana is on Spirit and Photography subteams, enjoying her role on the both of them. She heard of Robotics through her friend, Amy, a freshman who is also on the team.
Nikolai B: Nikolai joined the team after encouragement from his brother, Thaddeus. Nikolai will be working on the electrical subteam, as it is what he has the most interest in.
Thaddeus B: Thad got into Robotics for college impressions and to further his experience in high school. Thaddeus is interested in doing whatever is needed for the team.
Curtis B: Curtis has been on the team for two years, and originally heard of robotics through school. He currently keeps his focus on the team website and is the scouting captain.
Ashton C: Ashton was introduced to Robotics by her friends, even friends outside of Denfeld. Ashton, while she is the Spirit lead, she is also interested in Journalism, and Web/Media!
Arra C: Arra got into Robotics through her Uncle Jon, and is a part of the Photography and Spirit subteams.
Logan E: Logan thoroughly enjoys Robotics, and he thinks it’s cool. Logan leads the spirit sub-team along with Ashton C. and leads the web/media subteam.
Aaron G: Aaron’s reason for joining the team was his desire to assist the team in programming. Not surprisingly, he’s interested in this year’s Programming subteam!
Clay H: Clay, like others on the team, came from Lego Robotics, and has moved onto FIRST Robotics this year. He is also doing programming for the team.
Zak H: Zakarias got into Robotics through Matt K and family encouragement, and has made many great connections since then. He plans to take part in the Graphic Arts team, as well as the general Web/Media team.
Brandan J: After seeing friends join Robotics, it was only natural that Brandan followed. Like many others, he is diving straight into our programming subteam.
Alex J; Like his twin Riley, Alex got into Robotics through his brother and mutual friends. Alex captains the build side of the team with his brother.
Riley J: Friends, like many others, got Riley Jenko into the team. He captains the build side of the team with his brother, Alex.
Matt (Mini) J : Mini-Matt got into Robotics through Matt K. Mini Matt is teaching, and leading CAD and design this year.
Erik K: Erik learned of the team through simple word of mouth within his class. As of now, he’s been on the team for 3 years and is currently the captain of Field Build.
Jason K: Jason also got interested due to his sibling, Eric, who is also on the team. He plans to be doing build this year.
Dakota K: The joy of working and building items with the challenges of building a robot brought Dakota to robotics with a loving (almost too much) affection for the team.
Matt K: Matt K. got into Robotics through friends. He is interested in Graphic Design, and leads aforementioned subteam.
Jamie L: Jamie found interest in Robotics through her friend, Brianna, when she was a freshman. She is currently Co-Captain of the team and plans to help the team in all the ways she can.
Joe L: Joe found out about 4009 through his family and friends. He wants to get into the Build subteam and encourages others to learn the skills from the subteam as well.
Logan M: Logan found robotics through friends. He plans to be involved in graphic design this year.
Nic M: Nic got into the team as he loves all things robots. His main interest thus far is in building the robot itself.
Emma N: Emma found out about the team through a teacher who heavily encouraged her to join. Currently, Emma is pursuing journalism as her main forte.
Amy O: Amy was introduced to the robotics team by her brother, Keenan. Amy greatly enjoys spirit and photography.
Keenan O: Keenan was introduced to robotics by his mother. Keenan plans to continue to run the skycam at competitions and lead the field build subteam.
Parker R: Thanks to his middle school, Parker found interest in Robotics through a classroom experience. He is excited to work on the build subteam.
Kaleb R: Kaleb found out about Robotics through a newspaper article that DNA was highlighted in. This year he is the electrical lead, and also participates in robot build.
Tyler S.: Tyler got into Robotics thanks to Dylan J, a former captain of the team. He’s currently working on the Build subteam, learning from many of the veteran students.
Andrew S: Andrew joined the team so that he could be more involved at Denfeld. He is interested in learning and providing engineering and electrical skills to the team.
Emily T: Emily was in Lego Robotics, so moving to FRC was the next step was obvious for her! She is interested in doing programming for the team this season.
Olivia V: Olivia heard about Robotics a few years ago by word of mouth, and chose to join Team 4009. She is currently on the programming subteam, hard at work to learn Java before build season comes.
Cassidy W: Cassidy found out about robotics through friends and in the end joined due to her interest in photography. Cassidy is the captain of the business side of the team. She plans to focus on team videos and marketing this year.
Ian W: Ian’s sister, Cassidy, kick started his interest in robotics. Ian plans to participate in programming and pursue it further during his time on the team.
