Lake Superior Regional!

Wow, what exciting Regional action!  The finals were decided by a mere 3 points!  The alliance of Team 2526 – Crimson Robotics from Maple Grove, Team 4818 – The Herd from West Fargo, and Team 93 – New Apple Corps from Appleton took top honors in two hotly contested finals matches.  They beat Team 2052 – KnightCrawler, Team 2883 – F.R.E.D., and Team 2472 – Centurions by the insanely close scores of 101-100 in Finals Match #1 and 121-119 in Finals Match #2.

Our team had a strong showing.  In our fifth match of the competition we put up a score of 124, which at the time was the highest single match score in the world.  We went on to finish the preliminary rounds ranked 8th out of 63 teams and got to choose our partners as the 6th Alliance Captain.   We also took home the “Innovation in Control” award for our autonomous writing macros.

We finished the regional ranked third in OPR (Offensive Power Ranking) on the Blue Alliance website.  OPR is their rating system that “attempts to deduce the average point contribution of a team to their alliance.”

We ultimately fell in the quarterfinals, but are now looking forward and preparing for the Central Illinois Regional where we hope to perform even better!
