2023
2023 started with a long arduous six week build season before competition at DNA’s hometown regional. During alliance selection DNA was picked for the 8th alliance, losing in the quarterfinals after a hard fought battle against the 1st alliance. At the Award Ceremony for the Lake Superior Regional, DNA got the Autonomous Award for their anti-push system.
At the North Star Regional DNA cheered their way to 14th place and the 6th alliance. During the Award ceremony, DNA earned the second highest award in FIRST, the Engineering Inspiration Award, sponsored by NASA. Engineering Inspiration is awarded to the team that promotes respect, engineering, and dedication. This was the third time DNA was nominated for the World’s Championship held in Houston, DNA qualified in 2020, but unfortunately there was not a World’s competition held due to Covid.
At World’s DNA participated in seminars, met with teams from all over the world and competed in the Galileo division. During competition, DNA was leading with a score of 5-2, but the last three matches of qualifications were against alliances with some of the best robots in the world.
