2019 Kickoff

It’s that time of the year everyone!

This past Saturday the 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition game was revealed by a kickoff stream
that our team viewed at UMD. This year’s challenge is “DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE
sponsored by the Boeing Company”. In this challenge robots are tasked with delivering cargo
and hatch panels to either rocket ships or a cargo ship on the field. If you would like to learn
more about this year’s challenge we have included the kickoff video down below.

After attending the UMD Kickoff event our team headed to the West Duluth American Legion to
prepare for the upcoming 6 week build season. While at the Legion we analyzed the game
manual, developed ideas for our strategy for the new game, and devised designs for this year’s
robot.
