Denfeld Nation Automation FIRST Robotics Team 4009 competed at the Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, Minnesota on March 8th and 9th, 2019. It was the team’s first regional competition this season.

During qualification matches, DNA’s robot performed amazingly well and went undefeated through nine matches and was ranked 1st out of 63 teams. As the only undefeated team they earned the first place alliance captain position. They chose KAOTIC Robotics Team 4539 from Frazee, MN and WingNuts Team 4741 from Redwood Falls, MN as their alliance partners. DNA continued their success during the quarterfinals in which they remained undefeated! DNA finally succumbed to another high powered alliance during the semifinals, ending their winning streak. This concluded their time on the field but they weren’t done yet. During the awards ceremony, DNA was honored to be chosen as the winner of the Gracious Professionalism award which “Celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism® working together both on and off the playing field.”

In addition to their presence on the field, DNA also helped to make the event successful. They supplied volunteers for helping with robot inspection, safety advisor, field reset, pit administration, and volunteer coordination. The team was also heavily involved in field set up and tear down for the competition. DNA would like to thank all of their generous sponsors and supporters for making it possible for them to compete.
