About Us
Denfeld Nation Automation (DNA) Robotics is a varsity level FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team. Its mission is to provide life-changing experiences for students and fundamentally change the culture of the community by proving that innovative, creative engineering solutions can be as fun and rewarding as traditional sporting activities. DNA is a year-round student- led organization supported by adult mentors.
The team aspires to:
- Educate and inspire students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
- Strengthen students’ communication, confidence, and leadership skills by incorporating business and project management principles
- Stimulate problem solving and imagination through innovation and invention.
Team Structure
Denfeld Robotics is a community sponsored team that operates similar to a small business and is divided into build and business sub-teams.
Build Sub-Team
Build sub-teams include CAD, Electrical, Programming, Manufacturing, and Field Build. DNA Robotics encourages ingenuity and problem solving by teaching STEM principles in a constructive and exciting environment. Students design, prototype, and build a robot with a variety of materials. The electronics and controls systems used are state-of-the-art and will apply to many careers.
Business Sub-Team
Business sub-teams include Graphic Design, Media, Strategy, Web Design, and Spirit. DNA raises 100% of the funds it needs each year enabling students to gain valuable business experience. This includes writing grants, presenting to businesses, writing press releases, and developing marketing strategies.
