Week One Update

On behalf of DNA Team 4009, this is the first of our weekly updates to keep our supporters apprised of our season’s progress.  In the first week of build season, our team has been busy planning for the Game Design Challenge and the Infinite Recharge at-home challenge.

This week DNA started coming up with ideas for the Skills and Game Design Challenges. DNA team members watched the Behind The Bots live stream put on by FIRST to learn more about how FIRST game designers put together an FRC game. DNA also started working on theme ideas, and started working on a story to go along with the theme. In addition to planning a theme, DNA has started to plan out game elements that would pose a challenge to other teams but be simple enough that a first year team would be able to complete. This week DNA has picked out some tools and equipment that would be beneficial to update this year’s robot and extra supplies that would be used on future robots during the FIRST Choice selection process. DNA has made significant progress on the FIRST Chairman’s Award, and has surpassed their weekly Chairman’s goals. DNA hopes to keep up this progress as they work on the Game Design and skills challenges.
