Denfeld Nation Automation (DNA) FIRST Robotics Team 4009 competed at the Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, Minnesota March 9th and 10th, 2018. It was the team’s second regional in as many weeks after participating in the Great Northern Regional in North Dakota last weekend. The team leveraged its experience to consistently show leadership and poise on and off the field. DNA demonstrated its robots ability to accomplish any task on the field from dropping boxes onto the switch or scale, to shuttling power cubes through the exchange and especially climbing high at the end of the match. DNA was honored to be chosen by the 7th place alliance, Sir Lancer Bots Team 2977 and Warrior Robotics Team 2503. The alliance put up a valiant effort, but eventually succumbed to the 2nd place alliance in the quarterfinals. The team also was awarded safety FIRST pins for their quality methods the maintain a safe and organized team.
In addition to their presence on the field, DNA also made major contributions to running the event. They supplied volunteers for robot inspection, safety advisor, field reset, pit administration, and volunteer coordination. The team was also heavily involved in setting up and tearing down the field for the competition. DNA also ran the webcasting for the event that was seen by over 6,000 viewers from countries all over the world.
